The Venue Bar & Restaurant
Review
For more than three decades, Carmel and Sean and their family have helped make the Venue Bar & Restaurant one of Sligo’s standout dining spots. Housed within the village’s oldest pub, dating back to 1880 and originally founded by Charles Coles as Coles, this is a place with real history and character. Thankfully, that heritage is matched by the quality coming from the kitchen. Seafood is a real strength here, with locally caught mussels and produce sourced from the shores of Donegal bringing an authentic taste of the west. Their steak offering is also a serious draw, with only Irish beef making the grade. Add in Atlantic views, the Wild Atlantic Way setting and a bright conservatory-style restaurant, and you have a wonderfully memorable Sligo experience.
