The Slate - Y Llechan
The premises has been totally refurbished from top to bottom with some internal modifications to make the most of the space available and to create a coherent and fulfilling place to work, rest and play. Parts of the original building are doubtless quite old (this is after all a former coach house) with thick walls and beamed ceilings, but gone are the dark rooms of yore - the choice use of fitting colours lifts the mood dramatically, with tasteful decor and the general presentation shouting quality, comfort as well as functionality. Outdoor parking space is paramount if you plan to stay a night or two and The Slate can happily oblige, and with a westerly aspect and outdoor seating, you'll be able to relax in the afternoon sunshine after a day out and enjoy some excellent food and drink.
With 11 bedrooms, free internet Wi-Fi throughout the building, every room featuring a shower en-suite and much much more, make sure your next stay is with The Slate.
It's not only the restaurant & hotel that's undergone a total refurbishment but the bar too. If you want a real ale then you're in luck as this is just the place to sample some locally produced beer, spirits & wines. Bespoke lighting has been incorporated into the bar to highlight the exciting range of cocktails, spirits and gins on offer. One of our passions at The Slate is Gin. We've sourced some amazing gins, both local and from further afield, to highlight this diverse spirit.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Thanks to new owners Ben and Kelly Harding, a new slate has not just been cleaned, but totally transformed. Formerly a 17th Century coach-house, later the Abbeyfield Hotel, the site has become an exquisite and very cool hotel, restaurant and bar. What has been a labour of love for this dedicated couple, has skillfully and with much imagination and determination become an extremely popular venue, there’s a lovely friendly vibe which welcomes families warmly. With a soothing continuity, the decor flows throughout like ribbons of delicious grey satin. Against this backdrop of grey, the food in contrast is a cornucopia of rainbow colours and absolutely scrumptious flavours. Highly skilled Chefs behind the scenes are busy creating appertising delights which truly place The Slate on the culinary map.
