I remember when I was a young lad of about 15, my grandfather, Islwyn Walters (He'll love the mention) telling me "People will always need to eat!" I held onto that thought throughout my career in catering, as a constant reminder that I was not wasting my time and that my cause was just. I Love great food and fine wine and I am very privileged to have travelled and eaten in most of the world's best restaurants, but throughout my whole career one thought has remained constant; Return home to Wales and open a great Gastropub, bringing my passion for great food & drink with me.

​And 17 years later... the story begun.
After a long time looking for the perfect place I came across the Plough & Harrow, just inside The Gower peninsular, in the village of Murton. For me the place was perfect, not only back in Wales but my home town of Swansea. Two minutes from Caswell bay and a short drive from the city centre, with a car park and a cosy country pub interior, it ticked every box.

Less than two years later we were crowned Gastro-pub of the year at Cardiffs Food Awards Wales and in London at the Pub and Bar awards we were named Best Pub in West Glamorgan. So from humble begins we have started well and then began our third year in style by being awarded an AA rosette for culinary excellence!

From here we look to keep building to give Gower the best Pub it's ever had!
