The Old Warehouse
Review
In the heart of historic Tullamore, The Old Warehouse is living proof that heritage and modern hospitality can share the same pint. Standing on the former Tullamore distillery site, this handsome building has been hauled into the 21st century by Irish golfing giant Shane Lowry and his hospitality ace partner, Alan Clancy. Thankfully, you don’t need to follow the sport of golf to love the result: an inviting, industrial chic space with subtle nods to its past and a buzz that builds the second you step inside. The food is confidently execute, generous, flavoursome plates that suit both quick catch ups and long, lazy evenings, while the drinks are plentiful, well kept, and poured with pride. Add warm service and an atmosphere that’s addictive, and you’ve got a venue that raises the bar for the Midlands. If there’s one place outside Dublin you have to be seen, it’s here right now.
