The Moorings (Knockvicar)
Review
Having visited countless restaurants throughout Ireland, I’ve come to appreciate those special places where the setting, food and atmosphere combine to create something truly memorable. The Moorings in Knockvicar is certainly one of them. Looking across the beautiful waters of Lough Key, with its charming marina providing a wonderfully romantic backdrop, this is somewhere I’d happily recommend to couples seeking a little quality time together. I particularly enjoyed meeting owner Roger Cali, whose years of experience in hospitality have given him a real understanding of what makes a restaurant exceptional. His passion for carefully sourced ingredients and beautifully prepared food is immediately apparent. There’s something rather lovely about enjoying a leisurely meal here, watching the world drift by in such peaceful surroundings. Whether celebrating an anniversary or simply treating someone special, I genuinely believe The Moorings is one of those delightful places that makes dining together feel like an occasion.

Rosdarrig Bed & Breakfast
There are great Irish B&Bs, and then there are those rather special places that stay with you long after you leave. Rosdarrig Bed & Breakfast, in the popular Co. Roscommon town of Boyle, firmly belongs in the latter category. Hosts Brenda and Gerry have created, in my opinion, one of the finest B&B experiences in the region
