The exceptionally restored Georgian Mansion: King House, in Boyle, County Roscommon, has a special sprinkling of golden stardust all over it, that makes it an irresistible attraction. Built in the early 1700s for Sir Henry King, who was a member of one of the most mighty, and powerfully wealthy families in Ireland. Located in the centre of town, history comes alive for all to see beneath the roof of this fascinating, enigmatic house that keeps you engaged and intrigued, throughout your whole tour. As you stroll through the house at your leisure, you’ll be met by historical figures and sound effects, as well as an interesting array of activities. The extraordinary resplendence of the period rooms are flawless and utterly breathtaking, and if you’re both feeling brave of heart, why not visit the spooky prison cells?
