The Lucan Spa Hotel
Review
The Lucan Spa Hotel is a wonderful reminder of everything I love about traditional Irish hospitality. Proudly remaining in the Colgan family for six decades, there is a genuine sense of warmth, continuity and character here that many modern hotels simply cannot replicate. Built in 1891, this magnificent property forms part of Dublin’s rich hospitality history, yet still feels relevant, welcoming and wonderfully well cared for today. With 71 comfortable bedrooms, guests can expect a restful night’s sleep without paying city-centre prices. Its location just off the N4 and close to the M50 makes it an excellent base for Dublin, the surrounding counties and onward journeys across Ireland. For value, convenience, history and heartfelt family hospitality, The Lucan Spa Hotel is a very easy recommendation.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Food is very much part of the experience at The Lucan Spa Hotel, and with six decades of Colgan family ownership behind it, there is a reassuring sense of tradition throughout. For something more refined, the award-winning Hanora D’ Restaurant delivers elegant dining in stylish surroundings, while its afternoon tea makes for a lovely treat. The Ballyneety Bar offers a relaxed setting and is naturally where many guests gather in the evening for good food, a drink and a friendly atmosphere. Then there is breakfast in the Earl Bistro, a generous and enjoyable start to the day. With three dining experiences under one roof, The Lucan Spa Hotel caters for every mood, occasion and appetite, making it a dependable choice for both guests and visitors alike.
