The Lady Gregory Hotel
Review
Gort is the perfect stop-off or base for exploring County Galway, County Clare, and even Limerick City, and the Lady Gregory Hotel embodies that convenience with real heart. This isn’t my first endorsement of this family-owned, family-run hotel, and it won’t be my last; they simply get better with every visit. Officially three-star, it easily merits four in my book, while consistently delivering a five-star service. With 87 rooms and suites, all furnished and decorated to a high standard, comfort comes as standard. Leisure is a highlight too: a proper swimming pool, well-equipped gymnasium, and regular fitness classes mean you’re in excellent hands. Food is wonderful, with provenance taken seriously by the owners and kitchen. Choose the relaxed, cosy Jack B Yeats Bar for casual dining, or dress up for dinner in Isabella’s Restaurant. Add a genuinely friendly team and you’ve a perfect base for touring, and returning again, happily.
