One of Windermere’s oldest hotels re-opened early 2017 after a multi-million-pound refurbishment.
Overlooking Lake Windermere, The Hydro Hotel is perfectly situated for both leisure and business guests now offering 78, en suite accommodation, which a third of our bedrooms and all the suites have been completely refurbished, free Wi-Fi, free parking, a restaurant, a bar and 24-hour room service.
Our hotel boasts 1881 Restaurant & Bar, serving local cuisine and seasonal dishes with a local area. When it comes to business, where else can you hold a meeting overlooking the stunning Lake Windermere and the Lake District mountains? Our Ballroom can hold up to 150 people. We also have the ideal settings and rooms for one-to-one meetings or company presentations.

Great food and fantastic service are at the heart of 1881 Restaurant & Bar, by delivering our menu food prepared by our Head Chef and his dedicated team who are passionate about food.
The kitchen team has recently been working on new menus in the hotel from light bites and Afternoon Tea to Dinner, you will find a range of exciting new dishes to try.
1881 Bar stocks am an impressive range of whiskeys from our own doorstep to Japan & back again, local cask ale and other renowned brands are served, choose from our extensive cocktail list or enjoy a refreshing glass of champagne.
