The Helm Bar & Restaurant, located on the Quay in the charming town of Westport, offers exceptional accommodation that enhances the allure of this favourite destination of mine. Perfectly situated near Connemara and Mayo's top attractions, it’s an ideal base for exploration. The Helm also specialises in golf packages, The Helm secures discounted rates at all Mayo golf clubs and arranges transfers and tee times for groups. While known as a wonderful B&B, this family-run venue also boasts self-catering accommodation with fully equipped kitchens, offering flexibility for longer stays. The staff are wonderfully welcoming, going above and beyond to ensure every aspect of your visit is flawless. Their genuine hospitality makes you feel right at home, and breakfast? Absolutely outstanding, hearty and delicious! Highly recommended!

During my visit, I indulged in an array of the freshest seafood, expertly prepared and bursting with flavour. Each dish, featuring locally sourced fish, showcased the restaurant’s dedication to quality and excellence. The meal was nothing short of spectacular – one of the finest seafood feasts I've enjoyed in years. With its warm, inviting atmosphere and exceptional cuisine, The Helm is a must-visit. Trust me, after dining here, you’ll be raving on about it to everyone you know!
