The Green Frog Cafe & Campsite
Review
There’s something wonderfully refreshing about finding a campsite that genuinely puts its guests first, the GreenFrog Cafe & Campsite in historic Moffat does exactly that. Owners Robert and Nicky have created a delightful little haven where friendliness, comfort and genuine Scottish hospitality come naturally. Catering for motorhomes, campervans, Airstreams and touring caravans, with electric hook-ups available, this charming site offers an excellent base for exploring Dumfries & Galloway and the Scottish Borders. What particularly impressed me was the intimate, relaxed atmosphere and reassuring sense of security throughout. Unlike larger, impersonal holiday parks, GreenFrog retains that lovely personal touch which makes travelling so rewarding. Better still, the onsite café serves excellent breakfasts, setting you up perfectly for another day's adventures. A cracking little campsite that deserves recognition!
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
I love finding these hidden gems and finding a café that combines excellent food with beautiful surroundings, the GreenFrog Café in Moffat certainly delivers! Overlooking picturesque fishing lakes, this delightful establishment offers far more than your average campsite café. From hearty breakfasts to delicious light lunches, freshly brewed coffee and tempting homemade cakes, everything is served with genuine care, consistency and pride. What particularly impressed me was the relaxed atmosphere and friendly team, who made everyone feel welcome, whether camping or simply passing through. There’s also a well stocked shop offering fishing and camping essentials, while a dedicated children’s play centre adds another reason for families to visit. GreenFrog is one of those lovely places where simplicity, quality and hospitality come together beautifully. Thoroughly recommended by me!
