Just off the main road from Preston to Southport, in the Lancashire village of Longton, The Golden Ball is a pub with real warmth at its heart. This is country pub dining done exactly as it should be, honest, generous and full of local character. The food here feels rooted in its surroundings, with dishes that celebrate good produce, careful cooking and the simple pleasure of eating well in a place that instantly makes you relax. There is something quietly romantic about lingering over a meal here, whether after a day exploring Preston and the surrounding Lancashire attractions and countryside, or simply because you have found somewhere worth staying a little longer. Dog friendly both inside and outside, it welcomes everyone with ease. Add in a friendly team, a comfortable atmosphere and that unmistakable feeling of a proper British pub, and The Golden Ball ticks every box beautifully, highly recommended!
