Turbary Woods Rescue and rehabilitation center offers a unique collection of over 90 birds of prey including eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, vultures and more unusual species. All the birds are housed in large open fronted aviaries, sheltered in a woodland setting. You can experience first hand the breathtaking flight of a falcon. Hawks, owls, and other varieties are flown here at the sanctuary. You can also gain hands on experience and knowledge about these fasinating birds. Turbary Woods, Owl and Bird of Prey Sanctuary is based in Whitestake, Lostock Hall, near Preston Lancashire in the North West. Turbary woods is a pure volunteer based, non profit making Sanctuary. All money raised from Outside displays and shows keeps the Sanctuary OPEN. Every penny we earn is spent on the upkeep and the running cost’s, Vet bill’s and feeding the birds.So if you book with us or visit your money is helping directly with the rescue and conservation of injured owls and birds of prey.

I chose Turbury Woods Owl & Bird of Prey Sanctuary to be one of my Lancashire attractions as leaving it out would of been a crime! Being not only volunteer based, all of the profits made here, all get ploughed back into the attraction itself, making it an attraction you really want to support. Along with their really entertaining flying displays, their Owl & Hawk experience days are also worth a trip. I found the bird sanctuary here at Turbury Woods to be huge value for money and along with the huge visitor experience in offer here, I can't recommend a visit enough. Second to that, it's totally clear the guys who work with these birds every day, clearly care very much about each and every bird on display. The sanctuary is really easy to find and probably about ten minutes away from the M6 motorway, what are you waiting for?
