This gorgeous former 17th century farmhouse can be found in Wykeham, only ten minutes from Scarborough and right on the edge of the North Yorks Moors National Park. Founded in 1656, this is a privately-run family business which offers the perfect location for your getaway, corporate function, and of course is a magnificent setting for a wedding. Ivy-clad walls and picturesque gardens make for beautiful picture memories. The Downe Arms is an AA 4 Star rated country inn and holds the Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2012-2017. It boasts eleven superbly appointed en-suite bedrooms which have been traditionally decorated to luxurious effect. The emphasis here is on country elegance. The kitchen offers a comprehensive menu, filled with variety, using locally-sourced meat and vegetables. There is also a cosy country bar serving local ales and ciders at this venue. Close to many of the local attractions, this is an excellent choice for your holiday stay while you explore all that York and surroundings has to offer.
