The Burton Hotel
The Burton Hotel Hereford is an attractively modernised coaching inn set in the heart of a small market town near the Welsh border. Situated on Offa's Dyke Long Distance Footpath, Kington is a natural centre for rambling, fishing, golf (ten courses within easy reach), pony trekking, castle hunting, paragliding, motor rally school, bellringing, family history courses, bird spotting - red kites, survival courses, rare plant safari ... or chilling out by the pool.
Review
Kington has an awful lot going for it, great gardens, country walks galore and an amazing owlery centre, so it's no wonder we wanted so much to feature the Burton hotel as one of our 12 accommodations in Herefordshire. This hotel has been a hotel for many years but the present owners in my opinion are the ones who deserve all the credit for bringing this small market town hotel into what is now known for being the main meeting points in the town. Whether it be for food or a quiet drink, the Burton Hotel has a lovely atmosphere.
I was lucky enough to have the owner cook my dinner on the night of my stay as the hotels main chef was having his much earned night off. I had the chicken tikka and have to say it has to be one of the best currys I'd had in an awful long time. I couldn't get over how reasonably priced the hotels menu was. Normally a hotel like this would inflate the prices a little as they are the main place in the town, but not the Kington Hotel.
All in all I had a lovely stay here. With a state of the art leisure club built onto the side of the hotel, this hotel really does have everything to offer people either staying for one night, a few days or even a whole week. With great value, good food, and a fantastic nights sleep, what more could you ask for? They have a great website so jump on there now and see what great offers they have available.
