Stella Maris Hotel in the coastal town of Kilkee serves genuine food with real coastal honesty. You don’t need to be staying here to enjoy it; walk in and you’re welcomed like a regular. Provenance leads the menu, with seafood arriving at dawn, practically net to table, then treated with respectful, unfussy cooking that lets freshness speak. Eating fish while watching Atlantic waves roll in adds its own seasoning; the soundtrack of surf makes every bite taste brighter. Sunday lunch has local legend status: proper roasts, crisp veg, rich gravies, and puddings worth lingering for. Breakfast is equally strong: excellent coffee, fluffy eggs, lively soda bread, and sausages that actually taste of meat. Service is warm, pacing is easy, and the value is quietly impressive.
