South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum
Review
The South Yorkshire Aircraft Museum is a registered charity and runs with the help of volunteers. It boasts a staggering array of aircraft in this sprawling museum area and several displays, including a large area devoted to the Falkland Islands War, a WWI room, a WW11 Ops room, uniform display and many others. There is no better way to get a taste for the history of the RAF than to spend a few hours here taking one of their guided tours, or joining one of their Open Cockpit events. There is a shop on this site with models and toys for all ages (diecast heaven), as well as cakes and hot drinks to refresh the visitor. A thoroughly enjoyable day trip which has the benefit of contributing necessary funds to the preservation of our proud aviation history.
