Take an extraordinary journey back through time, with a visit to the award winning attraction; The Skye Museum of Island Life. Situated in Kilmuir, on the west coast of the Trotternish peninsula, the Skye Museum of Island Life, takes visitors on a fascinating sojourn into island life a 100 years ago. Delving deep into the different aspects of life in the west Highlands, during the late 19th century, visitors can explore the old Croft house, village smithy and the weavers house, as well as enjoying the many displays. The museum consists of seven traditional thatched cottages, which have been preserved especially to depict how 19th century crafters lived their lives, and with a vast array of crafting tools, displays and equipment there is so much to see and learn from this excellent museum.
