Secret Garden
Review
Tucked away between the Valleys and Abergavenny, The Secret Garden is a magical gem I’ve proudly endorsed for many years and it just keeps getting better. This beautifully presented garden centre boasts an impressive array of vibrant plants, flowers, and garden essentials that cater to everyone from seasoned gardeners to curious newcomers. It’s the kind of place where inspiration strikes at every turn, and where it’s practically impossible to leave empty-handed! One of the real highlights, however, is Sally’s Tea Rooms. Here, homemade cakes tempt you from the counter, breakfasts are hearty and delicious, and the light bites are full of flavour and freshness. Sally’s doesn’t compromise on quality, and it shows in every bite. Whether you’re browsing for plants, picking up a gift, or simply stopping in for a cuppa and a chat, The Secret Garden is a peaceful, welcoming retreat that truly lives up to its enchanting name.

The Little Crown Inn & Restaurant
If you’re looking for a romantic countryside escape that ticks every box, then the Little Crown Inn in Pontypool should be high on your list. Under wonderful new ownership since I last endorsed it, this charming country pub has been lovingly brought into the 21st century without losing an ounce of its original character.
