Review

The Rudyard Lake Railway in Rudyard, offers a delightful experience steeped in literary history and natural beauty. Rudyard Lake, where Rudyard Kipling's parents met and where he gets his name, is one of Staffordshire's prettiest spots. The railway, enthusiastically managed by the youngest couple to own a heritage railway in the British Isles, Adam Jeffrey and his wife Aleks, exudes charm and dedication. My visit was on a sunny day, enhancing the vibrant atmosphere. Volunteers bustled efficiently, and trains were filled with eager passengers. Since its inception in 1985, the railway has grown significantly. The facilities, including a quaint café open on select days, are excellent. Pricing’s very affordable, and Adam’s committed to keeping it that way for everyone. Overall, the Rudyard Lake Railway is a must-visit for its historical significance, scenic beauty, and welcoming environment and a trip on a train is romantic on any day of the week!
