Rice’s Hotel, Bar & Restaurant
Review
In the characterful market village of Poyntzpass, close to Newry, Rice’s Bar & Restaurant continues a proud story of hospitality dating back to 1798. Once part of a busier coaching and hotel tradition, the building is now home to a thriving bar and dining destination with a strong local following. Brothers Gavin and Ronan Walsh have spent the past two decades welcoming hungry locals and passing visitors alike, earning an excellent reputation for generous food and genuine customer service. Downstairs, the bar provides a relaxed setting for an easy going dining experience, while the upstairs restaurant offers something more polished, modern and intimate. Whether calling in casually or planning an evening with friends, Rice’s combines history, warmth and dependable dining in one memorable, inviting destination.
