Riccarton Inn Pub & Dining
Review
Perfectly positioned just outside Edinburgh, Riccarton Pub & Dining offers a wonderfully affordable alternative to the city’s often eye-watering hotel prices. With a handful of cosy, comfortable bedrooms, this family-owned establishment provides everything you need for a relaxing stay without breaking the bank. Having personally stayed at their sister pub in Peebles, I can confidently vouch for the family's commitment to quality, hospitality and genuine value for money. What makes Riccarton particularly appealing is its excellent location, with convenient local bus services taking you directly into Edinburgh. Believe me, having explored this magnificent city many times, leaving the car behind is certainly advisable! Add welcoming hospitality, comfortable accommodation and the convenience of dining downstairs, and you have an excellent base for exploring Scotland’s magnificent capital.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
There’s something the family behind Riccarton Pub & Dining takes particularly seriously, and that’s the provenance and quality of the food they serve. Forget fussy, pretentious menus or hurried fast food; here, it’s all about preparing great food properly, using quality ingredients and allowing the flavours to speak for themselves. The menu offers something for everyone, with hearty, beautifully prepared dishes and portions that are generous without being overwhelming. You certainly won’t leave hungry! What I particularly admire is the family’s commitment to honest Scottish hospitality, where good food, friendly service and excellent value remain at the heart of everything they do. Add a handful of wonderfully cosy bedrooms, and Riccarton represents everything a traditional Scottish pub should be. Absolutely deserving of its place in this book!
