Getting out into nature and spending time with the animals at Meanwood Valley Urban Farm: offers one of the best day outs you can have as a family. Situated within 26 acres, the farm is on Meanwood Beck, in Leeds, and has succeeded in becoming not just a working farm, but also a major centre for community and environmental work, providing a plethora of opportunities for the people. Open 7 days a week, the public are welcome to come and meet the animals, which makes the perfect place to introduce children to the world of farming, there’s also a playground for the under 12’s and a delightful cafe for hungry tummies. Research shows that children who spend time with animals can actually benefit from improved social interactions too, including reduced stress and anxiety and increased motivation and learning.
