Maid of the Loch
Review
Maid of the Loch is the last paddle steamer built in Britain in 1953 and is remembered fondly by many, as she travelled from one end of the Loch to the other. She was a first for Loch Lomond and an example of sheer engineering excellence. Now, for only a few pounds, you can come aboard this fine ship and make your way around. You can see and hear the engine room, walk her top decks and even have afternoon tea in the Maid’s well-stocked tearoom. By visiting the Maid of the Loch, you will also be contributing towards the ongoing restoration that will one day see this magnificent paddle steamer back on the water; a sight we cannot wait to see!
