Review

Loftus Hall claims to be the most haunted house in Ireland and if it were just the owners themselves that claim this, I would normally be very sceptical. However, absolutely everyone I have spoken to about the hall also claim it is not only the most haunted house, but one that fills them with absolute dread, such is the effect this house has on you. Once I knew this, being a believer in the supernatural myself, I scheduled my visit for an afternoon rather than an evening. My thinking was, 'how scary can a house be in the daytime' I couldn't of been more wrong! In all the years I have been writing these books, I have never once swore whilst visiting an attraction, however whilst visiting here, I did so twice out loud, and several times under my breath. Wether you believe or not, just standing outside the hall will fill you with trepidation, and just adds to the claim that Loftus Hall really is the Most Haunted House in Ireland.

Glendine Country House

Glendine Country House is one of those wonderfully charming places where romance, heritage and genuine Irish hospitality come together with effortless warmth. Set within the pretty village of Arthurstown, just a short drive from historic New Ross, this family-owned property has been welcoming guests for nearly two hundred years, and that sense of character is felt the moment you arrive.

Mary Barrys Bar & Restaurant

Mary Barry’s Seafood Bar & Restaurant, on the outskirts of Kilmore Quay, is a pub and dining destination I was genuinely delighted to return to after first endorsing it nine years ago. Expectations were high, but what Susie Doyle and her husband Alec have achieved here is exceptional. In my opinion, Mary Barry’s is now the finest pub in Co. Wexford, and fully deserving of our rare Iconic Status.
