Insole Court
Review
“All the world’s a stage, And all the men and women merely players; They have their exits and their entrances…” W. Shakespeare.
Insole Court is the stunning, Grade II* listed, Victorian Gothic Mansion in Llandaff, Cardiff, which was built for wealthy business man James Harvey Insole. Boasting a rich and fascinating history spanning 170 years, a registered charity committed to the preservation and protection of Insole Court, visitors can benefit from events, classes and experiences, which also includes a permanent heritage exhibition; “This House is a Stage.” This innovative walk-through audio drama brings local history to life, in a fabulously theatrical portrayal of the triumphs and disasters of the Insole Family, who built and lived in the mansion. There’s a team of extremely knowledgeable staff and volunteers, who help visitors understand the history, and if you fancy a break and something yummy to eat, there’s the Potting Shed Cafe. Insole Court makes a wonderful wedding venue, plus room hire and events.
