This is the second time Cafe Castan has appeared in this book. Its location, friendly staff and the amazing food they cook on a daily basis, is a winning combination and they’re the epitome of what this food section is all about. I’ve never endorsed chains in my books, when I say chains, I mean the big restaurant names, there just isn’t any point, when there are places like this around. Geoffrey White-Park, the owner of Cafe Castan really does take pride in the food they produce and where possible, uses only locally sourced produce. Located nicely on the edge of the park at Llandaff Fields, this cafe’s easy to find and with some seating outside, I couldn’t think of a better place for breakfast or lunch. Local businesses like this are always fighting for survival, so next time you're in Cardiff, why not pop over and say hello.
