Hatton’s of Garadice is a true hidden gem near Kilcock, blending small-hotel warmth with polished comfort. Run by Berna Hatton and her son Harry, it’s clear hospitality is second nature here: check-in is easy, rooms are fresh and well finished and every request is met with a smile. Just ten minutes from the M4, it makes a superb base for exploring the Boyne Valley, with Dublin and the wider Midlands within effortless reach. A recent, substantial upgrade has lifted standards across the board; bedrooms feel modern and inviting, while the dining offer makes staying in very tempting. Value is excellent, parking is simple and the team’s “nothing is too much trouble” attitude seals it in my opinion. An assured, friendly stay that over-delivers, comfortably indeed.

Hatton’s of Garadice is a brilliant pit-stop just off the M4 and an easy, delicious alternative to anonymous motorway services. Fresh from a major refurbishment, the team’s focus on provenance shines on every plate: the produce is local, seasonal and cooked with care. Settle into the extended bar for relaxed, casual dining and you’ll find generous, flavour-forward dishes that deliver comfort without compromise. Prefer something a touch more refined? Hatton’s Café Bistro brings a polished, bistro-style menu with daily specials and plenty of choice for all appetites, from light bites to hearty mains and tempting desserts. Service is warm here, pacing is spot-on and value is excellent. Whether you’re breaking a journey or making an evening of it, Hatton’s makes eating well truly effortless indeed.
