Hamlet Court Hotel
Review
Perfectly located just off the motorway at Johnstown Bridge, the Hamlet Court Hotel is a clever base for exploring Dublin without the city’s bustle or high prices. This proudly family-owned property surprises the moment you step inside, unfolding into a warm, contemporary hotel with everything you need for a seamless stay. Recently refurbished bedrooms feel fresh and quietly luxurious, the kind of rooms that make you linger a little longer. Value is excellent, service is attentive and parking is easy. From here, a huge array of attractions lies within an hour’s drive, putting day trips across Dublin and the Boyne Valley effortlessly within reach. Most of all, the highly experienced, friendly team set the tone, professional, genuine and always happy to help. From check-in onwards.
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Set in the heart of Johnstown Bridge, the Hamlet Court Hotel serves the kind of honest, flavour-packed cooking locals swear by. I always follow their lead and here it pays off. Family-owned, John O’Neill and his brother Declan carry forward their parents’ ethos: generous portions, seasonal Irish produce and service that feels personal. Choose Murty’s Bar for a relaxed pint and a comforting lunch or dinner, or dress up for Bistro 61, their award-winning dining room, where technique meets good honest provenance in beautifully plated courses. They also butcher their own meats next door in their own butchers. Sauces are polished, desserts are worth lingering over and value is refreshingly fair. Whichever route you take, I promise you’ll be dining here every night of your stay!
