There are garden centres popping up all over the United Kingdom and because I am sat here writing about them, proves that they are starting to earn their rightful place as a tourist attraction. Gordale Garden Centre is a testament to that statement and I will go one step further and say Gordale sets the benchmark when it comes to how a garden centre should be run. The staff are friendly, the stock is of good quality and their cafe is just as famous today as it was back in the beginning. Established in the late 40’s, when the world seemed grey and dark just after the war, Harold and Joyce Nicholson had a vision of how to brighten it up just a little. This vision soon flowed through the very fabric of the business and stands as a testament to the fact that if you have an idea, stick to it to the bitter end.
