Gloucester Cathedral
The Cathedral today is much more than just an ancient monument - it is a living church open 365 days a year. Daily Worship is offered here every day.
. All are welcome to come and there is no charge. People pray with us in many other ways, too: by lighting a candle at our candlestand, or quietly when they visit. You are most welcome to visit the Cathedral, either to attend a service and to hear our wonderful choir, or to attend any of our events or concerts.
Or you are welcome to come and visit and experience the architecture of the building. We have a gift shop and a coffee shop where you can buy a souvenir or relax. We strongly advise tour companies, clubs and societies coming on group visits to book in advance.
Review
Taking away the Cotswolds, Gloucestershire isn't hugely known as a tourist hotspot. This probably has a lot to do with the Cotswolds starting here, depending on which way your travelling of course. But believe me, there is a huge amount too see and do here in Gloucestershire and now you've bought this book, I can introduce you to a number of them. Gloucester Cathedral for instance, this cathedral not only has a huge historical significance too the area, but was also one of the film sets heavily used in the Harry Potter franchise. When I was a child I had sang in, and also as an adult, I have visited many of our countries cathedrals. Whether or not you hold a special interest in these buildings, they all have some way of making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, just one of the signs of a Top 100 Attraction!
