Crookhaven Inn
Review
Perched in the heart of Crookhaven, right at the edge of the Mizen Head Peninsula, the Crookhaven Inn is the sort of place travellers hope to stumble upon. For three decades chef Freddy Olsen and his partner Joanne have built a bar and restaurant that feels effortlessly local, warm and confident. The menu champions West Cork provenance, from seasonal produce to the day’s freshest catches, all cooked with a steady hand and served with genuine pride. It’s a wonderfully atmospheric stop after a coastal drive, with friendly staff who make newcomers feel like regulars. Tables are in high demand, so I would highly recommend you ring ahead and book. Do that, and you’ll be rewarded. Then linger over a pint and watch the light fade.
