Crocodiles of the World
Crocodiles of the World is the UK’s first and only crocodile zoo, and is home to over 80 crocodiles, which represent 14 of the 23 extant crocodilian species, making it the largest collection of crocodiles in the UK. Founded by crocodile specialist Shaun Foggett, Crocodiles of the World is the result of a lifetime dedicated to the care and breeding of crocodiles. From a childhood collecting exotic pets and reptiles, Shaun has travelled the world learning about these incredible animals, and is now recognised as one of the few licensed and trusted crocodile keepers in the country. Also at Crocodiles of the World you can see a number of other reptiles including a 2 metre (6.5 ft) crocodile monitor lizard, alligator snapping turtle, Meller’s chameleons, pig-nosed turtle, and other reptile species.
Review
In this latest edition of the Top 100 Attractions books, we seem to have just as many hidden gem attractions as we do big names, that's down to people all over the United Kingdom taking their passion and being brave enough to take it that bit further. This couldn't be further from the truth than here at Crocodiles of the World. Crocodile conservationist, Shaun Foggett had a dream and in the face of adversity, made that dream a reality and the result of that dream is Crocodiles of the World. I absolutely love it here and every care and attention has gone in to enhancing your visitor experience. Crocodiles, Alligators, Caimans and many other special reptiles all await you and all very well cared for and even if you don't know much about these amazing creatures, once you've visited this attraction, you can't help but feel that you know them very well.
