Cong Camping, Caravan & Glamping Park
Review
This small family run Caravan, Camping & Glamping Park is located in an area of outstanding beauty within the Joyce Country and Great Western Lakes Geopark – one mile from the beautiful village of Cong in Connemara. Cong was the only village listed on TripAdvisor’s top 10 Irish destinations in 2018 & 2019. The village is an inland island surrounded by water, with quaint shops and cafes and historical ruins dating back as far the 12th Century. The Park is centrally located only 20 miles from the Wild Atlantic Way at Killary Harbour and 26 miles from Galway city and Westport – an ideal base from which to explore the west of Ireland. The Park has modern facilities including hardstanding and grass pitches, electric hook up, a shower block, a camper’s kitchen, sitting room, mini-cinema, laundry, BBQ area, children’s playground and free Wifi throughout. The Park is 5 minutes walk from Ireland’s finest brown trout and salmon fishing on Lough Corrib and 10 minutes walk from the world famous Ashford Castle. Plenty of outdoor activities are available from kayaking, horse riding, cycling and walking routes through the 2,000 acres of woodlands that surround Cong. Local maps of all the area’s highlights are provided at the Park free of charge.
