Review
Carlingford Lough Ferry not only offers an affordable, quick and well-run ferry service across Carlingford Lough (which effectively links the village of Greenore, County Louth, to the townland of Greencastle, County Down) but also provides an exciting peek into the fascinating history and rich cultural heritage of this area. The crossing itself takes approximately 20 minutes and offers some terrific photo opportunities of this celebrated countryside. However, over and above this, the ferry offers evening cruises to the lighthouse and around the Lough (among others available on their website) which is informative as well as an integral part of the gripping tale of the intriguing history of this protected area. This is a beautifully organised, clean ferry with friendly, helpful staff on board. A definite recommendation to add to your itinerary.
