Tucked away in the Carrickmacross countryside, the Brehon Brewhouse is a shining example of how tradition and innovation can sit side by side. In the McMahon family for many generations, it is now in the safe hands of Seamus McMahon, a custodian who takes his role, and his beer, very seriously. He, along with his family, have transformed half of what was a once-busy dairy farm into a state-of-the-art craft brewery, where the team now produces an impressive 48,000 litres a month. Whether you’re a craft beer fanatic or simply curious, this is an experience you shouldn’t miss. As you tour the brewery, you’ll hear the stories, history and humour that make this place so distinctive, before being whisked outside to see the working farm in action. I absolutely loved my visit to Brehon Brewhouse and I’ve a sneaking suspicion you will too, truly from first sip to final goodbye.
