Bala Lake Railway
Review
“If you knew Time as well as I do…you wouldn’t talk about wasting it.” L. Carroll.
Waste no time in making your way down for a wonderfully winding, wistful ride on the Bala Lake Railway. Rheilffordd Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake Railway) offers visitors an appealing journey into the past, amongst the exceptionally beautiful Snowdonia National Park. Home of the Quarry Hunslet locomotive and the Heritage Railway Association, ‘Best Small Railway of 2012’, and ‘Outstanding Visitor Attraction 2020’, ravishingly bright and appealing: narrow gauge steam trains allow the stunning scenery of Bala Lake to be enjoyed, along with idyllic woodlands and mountains. A round trip takes just over an hour, and passengers can pop on and off at various stations and go exploring, and with Bala town a mere 10 minutes away, you have an opportunity to do a spot of shopping! A charming café and gift shop make an appealing place to refuel your own engines too!
