Having written my series of books for over 15 years now, I’ve visited more lodge-based accommodation sites than I can count, but none have impressed me quite like the family owned Weardale Holiday Lodges in Northumberland. Without exaggeration, these may well be the finest lodges I’ve ever seen. Each one has been personally designed and built by the owners themselves, with interiors that reflect a real sense of individuality, care, and style. Luxury comes as standard here, from the high-end furnishings to the breathtaking picture-postcard views and private hot tubs that accompany every lodge. During my site tour, I found myself genuinely speechless at times, no small feat. Spread across two locations, with one site smaller and more intimate than the other, both adult only sites are equally flawless in layout and presentation. It’s clear that a huge amount of passion and pride has gone into creating this exceptional retreat.
