Vaughan’s Anchor Inn
Review
Vaughan’s Anchor Inn in Liscannor is a shining example of Irish hospitality done right. Since 1979, it has welcomed guests from around the world with warmth, character, and genuine County Clare charm. The story of this wonderful pub cannot be told without recognising John and Annette Vaughan, whose dedication built the strong foundations that still define the place today. Now Denis and Lisa, together with James and Denis Jr, are symbiotically driving the business forward with energy, pride, and real family unity. James showcases his talent in the kitchen, while Denis Jr plays a key role supporting the wider operation, including Lahinch. The result is a business that feels authentic, hardworking, and full of heart. Food quality is excellent, service is friendly, and the atmosphere is consistently inviting. Upstairs rooms are comfortable, convenient, and perfect for exploring the counties of both Clare & Galway. I cannot recommend this place enough!
