Review

Romance comes naturally to the Scottish Borders, and few places capture its charm quite like the Traquair Arms Hotel in picturesque Innerleithen. This magnificent 200-year-old coaching inn has been lovingly maintained by its family owners, who understand exactly what makes a memorable escape. Beautifully appointed bedrooms and delightful self-catering cottages offer couples comfort, character and a little indulgence, while the hotel's appeal extends equally to families and travellers exploring this enchanting region. What particularly impressed me was the genuine warmth of the hospitality. Nothing seems too much trouble for the wonderful team, whose enthusiasm shines throughout. Then there's the food, which alone justifies a visit. Celebrating the finest regional produce, the kitchen delivers exceptional dishes where freshness and provenance take centre stage. Whether planning a romantic weekend, a countryside adventure or simply an outstanding meal, the Traquair Arms is somewhere I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting this beautiful corner of Scotland.
