The Woodlark Inn, in the friendly village of Lambley, is exactly the kind of place I enjoy recommending to my readers. Choosing where to eat is never just about what arrives on the plate; it is also about the people, the welcome and the genuine care behind a business. At the Woodlark, owners Emma and Richard made a lasting impression on me. Their passion for this lovely village inn is unmistakable, and knowing they even sold their house to take it on says everything about their commitment. The food here is honest, full of flavour and very good value, without unnecessary fuss or pretension. Yet what really makes the Woodlark special is its atmosphere. It is the sort of place where lunch easily turns into an afternoon drink and dinner turns into an evening out, whether inside or out. Visit once, and I have every confidence you will want to return.
