The White Lion in West Kirby, on the Wirral Peninsula, is a charming and characterful pub brought to us by the same owners as the beloved Irby Mill. It embraces its identity as a proper local pub, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere without any pretense. Despite its strong community feel, I found the locals to be both friendly and respectful, making it easy for visitors to feel at home. While the White Lion doesn’t serve traditional pub food, it more than makes up for this with its fantastic selection of Thai Tapas. This unique offering, paired with an excellent range of real ales and other beverages, creates a memorable dining and drinking experience. Whether you’re passing through or staying in the area, a visit to the White Lion is an essential part of any trip to the Wirral. It’s a place that delivers authenticity and charm in equal measure.
