The Tempest Arms
A Warm welcome from the Tempest Arms. A famous landmark in these parts! The Tempest Arms is set in rolling countryside close to the beautiful Yorkshire Dales and is the gateway to the pretty hamlet of Elslack. Our very first Individual Inn, the Tempest Arms dates back to the 17th century and has long been known as the meeting place and has seen it all… Be welcomed into a convivial atmosphere by our lovely, friendly staff;
there are the bar areas and dining rooms, with quiet corners and alcoves, plump cushions, roaring log fires and hand pulled ales. This Inn ticks all the boxes. We also offer celebration rooms, private dining rooms and a bustling bar. In addition, we have 21 beautifully appointed bedrooms offering all you need for a good night’s sleep in luxurious surroundings.
Dig into fluffy, Yorkshire puddings with rich onion gravy, savour the slow cooked belly pork and our famous Lamb thing-me-bob, devilled kidneys and much more. Indulge yourself with one of the traditional puddings smothered in lashings of custard. Planks of grazing food are ideal to laze away the afternoon. Our home-made granola is a must – and much talked about at breakfast.
Our rooms are stylish and individual and all offer great comfort for business or pleasure…. Some have large baths or wet rooms, some with a hot tub, or private terraces or balcony overlooking the babbling beck. We don’t think it will be long before you make the Tempest Arms your own home from home.
