The Royal Hotel
Review
The Royal Hotel in Bolton-le-Sands is one of those pubs where good food, genuine hospitality and value come together beautifully. Just ten minutes from the M6 motorway, it makes an ideal stopping point or destination in its own right. Jason and his team have worked hard to create a pub that feels honest, friendly and full of character. That same sincerity carries through to the kitchen, where head chef Rob and his team place real importance on quality, flavour and careful sourcing. Local produce and provenance features wherever possible, bringing freshness and a strong sense of place to every plate. The food is generous, well cooked and refreshingly free from unnecessary fuss. It is easy to understand why the Royal has built such a strong reputation. With seven cosy, comfortable bedrooms available at sensible prices, this is a pub that delivers more than expected, ideal for exploring Cumbria and the Lakes.
