Just outside the popular Lincolnshire town of Spalding, the Riverside Inn enjoys a peaceful setting on the banks of the River Glen. I have always taken great pride in choosing independently owned venues, because in my professional opinion they so often provide the most memorable experiences. Owners Kai and Julija, together with their friendly team, offer the kind of warm welcome that immediately makes you feel at home. With food served seven days a week, the Riverside is becoming something of a rarity, and its tasty cooking makes it well worth seeking out. Add a handful of cosy, comfortable bedrooms and you have a charming base from which to explore this beautiful part of Lincolnshire. There is no pretence here, and that is exactly what I like. Affordable, welcoming and full of character, the Riverside leaves you with more money to enjoy the journey, and perhaps a little romance too.
