The Plough Inn is steeped in history dating back to 1786. Wreay is a stunning picturesque village, 5 miles south of Carlisle. The Plough has achieved an excellent reputation for its food and real ale, winning Carlisle Living’s Best Country Pub Award 2017 and nominated for Best Country Pub 2014/2015/2016. Winning CAMRA Winter pub of the season 2016. Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence Awards both 2015 and 2017. Food is cooked fresh to order and locally sourced always. Meals are served Wednesday– Sunday lunch and evening. Monday evenings we hold a charity fun quiz in which monies are given to local charities in which to date over £12,000 has been raised.
