The Plough Inn

Eating Out

The Plough Inn, actually at Brown Heath a little to the east of Christleton, Cheshire, was originally a farmhouse dating back to 1750, at which time it is known that a gallows stood at the adjacent crossroads. The farmhouse evolved into an inn when permission was given for local farmhands to quench their thirsts at the premises.

Until 1959 the Plough Inn was only licensed to sell beer, stout and cider; however today's choice of refreshments is much wider. A good range of ales and wines are available. Meals are served daily and a good selection is on offer including vegetarian dishes and a daily specials board that adds to the choice.

Meals and drinks can be consumed in a number of cosy rooms and the landlord allows the main bar area, which has a stone flagged floor to be used by walkers.

Outside the Plough Inn has a well maintained beer garden and a play area for Children.

Our restaurant is open daily. Monday to Friday from 12 noon - 3pm and 5pm - 9pm. Saturday 12noon - 9pm and Sunday 12noon - 6pm.

We offer a weekly changing menu using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients wherever possible. Our aim is to offer the best quality food at affordable prices.

As well as meals we offer a selection of light bites and sandwiches and baguettes.
