Review

“To clutch at night, seek at dawn to see its grace, is a security that would be impossible to replace. Painters captured delicate collars in the portrait face: with me, a lace piece or two, will always have a place.” C. Smallwood.

Regarded as one of the finest examples of late Georgian architecture: the true beauty of 2 Pery Square, was finally revealed after a huge restoration project, whence this rare and beautiful jewel became The People’s Museum of Limerick. Illustrating the extensive, myriad lives of the people, buildings and streets of the remarkable city, the museum is under the care and management of Limerick Civic Trust. Come and enjoy a tour in the company of knowledgeable, extremely warm and friendly Tour Guides; who will bring stories, as well as the house - to life. Engaging and enthusiastic, the People’s Museum offers a fascinating time capsule for visitors to travel through Limericks’s heritage. Built in 1838: Number 2 Pery Square unites the past with the present, along with collections from children’s dolls to military history, and including the most famous of all Irish laces; Limerick lace.
