The Peacock at Rowsley
The Peacock at Rowsley, originally a manor house, is a boutique Peak District hotel located in the heart of the Derbyshire. Close to the market town of Bakewell and a stone’s throw from Chatsworth House, the hotel offers an excellent base for exploring the Peak District. The hotel is part of the Haddon Estate and enjoys close links with Haddon Hall where The Peacock owners, Lord and Lady Edward Manners, currently reside. Perfect for a spring or summer break, with individually styled bedrooms and a luxurious suite, this independent hotel aims to provide exceptional service, food and comfort. The Peacock at Rowsley has fifteen bedrooms, from cosy single rooms to bedrooms with four poster beds and one of the best hotel suites in the region. The Peacock’s restaurant has been awarded three AA rosettes and serves a delicious fine dining menu, using produce local to the Peak District National Park. Day guests are welcome to dine in the restaurant, with Sunday lunch at The Peacock being a local favourite. For a more informal experience, the atmospheric bar with its open fire offers a convivial place to meet for lunch or dinner ; the bar offers its own menu of freshly cooked local food. As the hub for the Haddon Estate fisheries, the Peak District Hotel is famed for its excellent fly fishing on the Derbyshire Wye and River Derwent; day passes are available, or more regular fishermen are able to enjoy our Peacock Fly Fishing Club membership.
