The peaceful, leafy village of Llangernyw is steeped in history and fascinating stories. Not only is it home to the 40000-50000 year old, ancient Yew Tree, but also the much celebrated “Old Stag”. This popular pub has been standing handsome and elegant since 1650. Originally a Farmhouse, there’s a friendly, unpretentious vibe with wonderfully attentive bar staff, a crackling fire throwing glittering light creates a calming, rustic ambiance amongst the magical shiny brasses and plaques. The pub is alive with smiles and laughter, and all manner of interesting objects adorn the ceiling, which form part of a long tradition representing happy diners, who return year after year for the delicious food. Home cooked, fresh and definitely worth celebrating, winning both numerous awards as well as being featured on television. Wonderful tasty food, great value includes a generous Sunday lunch.
